Mudlark and the Royal Shakespeare Company present

What is this all about?

Two families in the same town have loathed one another for years. But a boy from one and a girl from the other fall in love - deep, sweet and destructive. You know the tale of Romeo and Juliet but now you can see it happening live and in real time - in modern Britain and on Twitter. Six characters live the story over the five weeks of Such Tweet Sorrow and you can experience it with them. Find out more.

Romeo Montague

Romeo,19,  takes each day as it comes and his current motto is to “live in the moment”. From looking at landscapes with his father (a painter)  to having a night out with the lads, from tackling level 10 in Call of Duty to making love - he makes the most of every second. He might be the quietest of the crowd but he’s definitely the eye-catcher.

He Lives with his parents. He’s an only child who enjoys his mum’s cooking, his dad's laid-backness and the freedom he gets whilst living under their roof. Basically, he has no plans to move out!

After sitting his A-levels (studying Maths, English Lit and Computers) and passing all three (A, B, C) he decided to take a year out. He works part-time at a cardboard box factory and spends the rest of the week dreaming of his future, playing his Xbox and in the pub with Mercutio.

He Likes - Xbox (Aliens V Predator, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto), drum ‘n bass, smoking weed, performance poetry.

He Dislikes - football (but would never admit it), confrontations, his job, the Capulets.

About The Actor: James Barrett

Your life-story in a tweet: Born in the greatest city in middle earth, Manchester. Love music, stand up, having a boogie, family, acting and now the Bard goes online!!

Favourite acting part so far? A week in Doctors in full clown make-up. We had lots of scenes on the street so I think I may have scarred some children – and their parents - for life.

What do you like doing online: You really shouldn't ask a single man that. But I like chatting to friends, going on youtube, stalking ex-girlfriends on facebook. You know, the usual.

What's the essential difference between you and Romeo ? I'm far too cautious. I envy his ability to be so unselfish and dedicate himself to other people – but maybe I won’t make the same mistakes he makes.

Your main offstage ambition? Travelling the world.
