Nurse Jess
Jess is a 23-year-old trainee solicitor at large corporate law firm. She has a small riverside flat in the centre of the city, about an hour’s drive from the Capulet family home.
Jess is the oldest of three children (brother Tybalt 17; sister Juliet 15). She is very driven, always with a project on the go, always taking on lots of extra work, never really stopping to think about the future or the past for too long.
Since her mother died ten years ago in a car crash and her dad remarried hastily, Jess has been more of a mother than a sister to the other two siblings. Hence the family nickname, “Nurse”.
She was a grown-up before her time and has always been serious, sensible and hard-working. She still misses her mum very much and has always harboured bad thoughts about the man driving the car that killed her: Montague. In fact she’s been brought up like all good Capulets to hate the name Montague.
Jess is currently training hard for the London Marathon to raise money for bereaved children.
